Deconstructed Anatomy

Illustrating Human Anatomy

I was assigned a brain transection from the Visible Human Project and was tasked to select three structures from the transection to illustrate three-dimensionally. My illustration was created from a photo I took of a subject who suffers from Second Stage Progressive Multiple Sclerosis which causes lesions on the brain. I chose this pose out of all the photos taken because I felt it is representational of the frustration that the subject says he feels on a regular basis. I incorporated one of his MRI images next to the assigned Human Visible Project transection in the final composition.
